They are screaming at brick walls elected in the states. The hope is they resubmit the bill as noted in last paragraph of the OP. It's hard in the states to turn this around.

CT, MD and NY led the way to get this done on their state level and every state must. The federal government is a media showpiece but real change can only be done in the states that elect these guys.

We know how the GOP has stripped women's rights state by state despite federal law saying they have them. Too many people are uninvolved. Bertolt Brecht said over half a century ago:
