The primary difference I see between the US and China, is that over here the criminal businessmen run the country and the politicians, while in China they make no such distinctions as long as you're a party member. The higher up you are, the bigger criminal businessman you can become. The only concern then for one's survival is: ''Always make sure to back the right horse.''

This is a case where this axiom is made painfully clear.

Bernie Madoff is a perfect example. They knew Bernie was a fraud but as long as they benefited from his theft, no one cared. It wasn't until they realized he was stealing their money too, not just the rubes! He had to pay. Off to prison with him! Humiliate his wife and family! Take away his possessions (that we can find)!

- In China they would have shot him in the back of the head and sent the bill for the bullet to his wife. It's ''a thing'' they do......
