that statement. Since the only individuals in colonial America who were allowed to hold land and pursue higher education could only be white and male, it's still racist and discriminatory talk.

And then to excuse it by saying in effect "Well, the Floundering Fathers were only protecting the vote from the people they made sure were powerless and uneducated" is the height of blindness.
