This is one of the reasons that I CRINGE whenever my 14 year old African American son walks out the door. My son started high school today. In addition to my wife's and my hopes that he will work hard, get good grades and have fun, my wife and I are additionally having to be concerned that he may just get shot on the way to or from school. Even here, in what many people would consider to be in the seemingly idyllic setting of Winthrop, Maine.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, so flame away...there were 6 idiots in Florida who rendered that horrendous Zimmerman verdict. They declared, in doing so, open season on black teen boys and adult men.
Thank you very much, 6 Florida idiots, for putting a target sign on MY SON'S back...ASSHOLES!
That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that.
