That would be a good start

The Democrats' attempts at gun control are similar to trying to put toothpaste back in the tube.

As someone who speaks politics quite often with both fellow aware folks as well as those still confined under a rock
(pick your definition as to what to call them as I do not and will not use labels having no real meaning as it just encourages their further use and abuse) I can think of a fairly long list of issues the Democrats waste an inordinate amount of time on pimping that do nothing but further diminish an already well rutted and eroded base.

Why is it that when I talk to even tea baggers I get many of them to agree with me on many issues?

It's because many of the issues they have are the same as mine yet I find myself voting Democratic only due to having no other choice and they vote Republican since Democrats demonize the tea baggers issues to serve as a wedge issue that benefits only the Oligarch's

Until WE the administrators finally take the asylum back from the patients who were quite happily allowed to take over by those who don't have to deal with the consequences of their actions we will, like any other insane person, keep doing the same thing and getting the same results and then being surprised when we do
