First, pharmaceutical products have a major role in curing diseases by proper use, such as antibiotics and steroids. These are meant to get the very sick patient through an acute phase of disease management.

Second, many in health care either under-prescribe, over-prescribe, or mis-manage patients with the wrong drug regimen. Example is to prescribe for symptoms, rather than seek special assessment so you don't do either of the above.

Then, there's anti-depressants… A proper method of treatment for, say, depression is not JUST to prescribe an array of drugs, but to use a three prong approach the patient (psycho-therapy, exercise and drug management with the long term goal of reducing the 3rd).

We have some physicians giving less than great advice out there, which is pretty scary if you think about it.

The NUMBER ONE thing is education for humans about their bodies. It's unbelievable how ignorant many of us are. And, since we can't know EVERYTHING, get second opinions while trying to educate yourself.

I think someone here alluded to scientology and this person in the video. If that's true, I find it kind of interesting that they wouldn't have said remove all pharmaceuticals. If this person is burnt out by big pharma, I can understand that, too. The reason they get paid so well is that they are SELLING. In our current health care system… it's really sick care that sells. The health you get is taken from the interest you have in taking care of yourself.
