16. If you don't understand the focus, you don't understand American media.

Media loves to focus on 1) The horse race (even if there isn't one) and 2) The outliers. Weirdos and No-chancers are like spices in a bowl of bland rice.

There are no "serious distraction(s)" from "core issues" at this stage of the game. We won't be going to the polls to pick a President for well over a year. The primaries are well in the distance, so are the debates (which is when people start to focus) and "inattentive summer" is here, where no one wants hard news and everyone is on holiday.

Trump is like a soup simmering on the back burner of the stove--always ready to serve up at a moment's notice.

Of course, ignore is your friend if you can't bear him. I regard him as the GOP harbinger--even more so when some of those idiots openly embrace him.

Kucinich didn't have a hope in hell of getting anywhere near the White House, either, but that didn't stop him from eating up a shitload of bandwidth here. People like to chat--it's amusing. And there's no one funnier than Loudmouth "The Donald" who also manages to make one realize that money doesn't buy everything.
