house, a couple of R's were going on and on about how they plan on voting for Trump because he's the only one willing to take on the "illegals" and how the "liberals" and Obama (of course) have "blood on their hands" for the SF shooting.

Judging by comments I've seen in news articles about the shooting, I'd say there is a sizeable contingent of people who'd be likely to vote for Trump on this issue alone. Yes, he's a noxious, oportunistic windbag, but the racist message he's spreading is one that, unfortunately, represents the view of many R primary voters.
