The cop was checking out a tripped alarm he had to be ready for anything! The dog was charging and ready to attack. The cop definitely felt bad about it. I would too. I don't see any way to prevent it. That cop had a fraction of a second to make a decision. That was NOT a small dog as the title said. It was a medium sized dog -50 lbs. Anyone dis'n this cop should do a ride along sometime. Unfortunately we don't live in Mayberry anymore. I wish we did.
