(57,936 posts)For the record, pretty much everyone at TED, including me, worries a great deal about the issue of rising inequality. We've carried talks on it in the past, like this one from Richard Wilkinson. We'd carry more in the future if someone can find a way of framing the issue that is convincing and avoids being needlessly partisan in tone.

Actually, preposterous.
TEDCHRIS -- Poverty, joblessness, the decline of the middle class and the resulting economic stagnation are partisan issues. And they happen to be the most important issues we face.
Everything else, education, the environment, healthcare, culture, religion, hope itself stagnate when our economy stagnates.
So, the issue may seem partisan to certain parties at TED, but it is what we need to talk about as a nation.
If TED wants to remain relevant, it needs to headline this talk. Let someone present a rebuttal in equal length and in an equivalent presentation. Let's really talk about what makes our economy flow and what has made it ebb.
I think this guy has got it right.
