78. Republicans Are Going To Get Their Comeuppance From The Pope?
Fri Sep 25, 2015, 10:14 AM
Sep 2015

I've seen many similar comments on the web. Republicans are said to be "quaking in their boots!" because the Pope is going to put them in their place! Ha! Ha! We have the last laugh!

But that's naive. John Boehner invited the Pope to speak, and while the Pope said some things they can safely ignore, and which will soon be forgotten, he dignified and provided moral authority for their plans to defund Planned Parenthood and blessed their stance against gay marriage. That what they we're after, and that's what the Pope delivered for them.
