2. Hillary says she tried to enlist in the Marine corp at 26?

And she says they told her she was a little old for them. This like many Hillary stories are difficult to confirm. In 1975 we know she lived with Bill in a house they had bought in Arkansas. We also know that according to her she refused his Proposal of marriage twice. Why would a young bright lawyer who had protested the war in the years previous to this want to join the Marine Corp? And why would they not take her in, they were in need of lawyers according to the Marines. Was she unable to convince the recruiting officer of her ability as a lawyer or did she even tell him?
it is strange that the Marine corp has never located that recruiter not that the recruiter himself has not identified himself. There are records of service which would indicate which recruiters worked at that recruiting station.
I continue to hear about Hillary's ability to negotiate but I have to conclude this was a failure on her part or she just was not very serious. If she did this as a lark, it was childish. But then maybe it is all in her head much as she remembered getting shot at. Being only a year younger than Hillary I recognize how many of us want to see our youth as more dangerous, more exciting, and this may have become just an embellishment of some thoughts she had oce of running off from Bill and joining the Marines!
I personally do not believe anything but some kind of psychotic episode could drive her to do such a thing and while I question lots about her actions, she appears sane. So is she tellling the truth and why select this truth to relate now if she is? With her unsubstantiated statements, Hillary is running the risk of swiftboating herself. So why say this now?
