a *lot* of his supporters think that shooting anyone in NYC or in SF or LA would be OK too.

It's not them... they don't think he is talking about shooting a supporter or even a random person.

I've had people in rural AZ spit on my car (and possibly flatten a tire) because I have California plates. (no bumper stickers, no political stmts... and likely didn't meet me or see me).
