1. I'm not sure we need virtual reality to broaden our vision

Although that might be fun. I think youtube is a great way to do that. But we do need to get upgraded so that our computers automatically translate languages as we watch videos. I know it's coming soon.

One of the best ways to learn about other cultures in person, is to reach out to immigrants who are here now, and make friends with them.
