7. People will infer intelligence if one answers questions with "I don't know."

(Although something less than 100% is optimum.)

I have always been inspired by the Lone Ranger, who would answer the queries from second banana, Tonto, with, "I don't know," said authoritatively, followed by a decisive, "but I'm going to find out."

Point is, "I don't know," pegs you as smart, because stupid people always know.
