If the 25 and under crowd were an actual reliable voting bloc instead of a campaign vehicle that swerves off the road on the last day of the journey to get tacos at some roadside street vendor instead of actually making it to the polls and casting a cote...if only their passion and commitment would finish the entire marathon instead of going 26 of the 26.1 miles to the finish line...but the truth is THEY (the youth vote) are the lemur with the banana.
Campaigning is like social media for them...its an "EVENT", its something to do to meet people and to have a place to go and something to talk about, but when the finality of the moment arrives, the opportunity to actually follow through on the promise of a campaign and a movement, well.....that's too much bother man.
I have seen it over and over and over since I turned 30 years ago...
The Battle of Seattle?
Howard Dean?
Barrak Obama?
Occupy Wall Street?
Now it is Bernie Sanders. I LOVE his message. I LOVE his supporters, too...I just would not count on them if I needed a kidney transplant and they were the delivery driver from the hospital to the operating room...too many shiny taco stands en route.
