9. Wow, brings back some memories!

I went to lots of gatherings like this as a child. Looking at it now though, it occurs to me that this type of dancing may have been the roots of the Carolina Shag which I love too. My favorite version of the Shag was the one we used to do in Baltimore/DC which was less footy and more hippy, slower and more sensual, but I never see it done anymore and I haven't found any videos of it. I guess it's gone. Anyway, the Carolina version lives on...

This couple are my favorites, Charlie Womble and Jackie McGee. They've been dancing together since at least the 1980s.
