On even just one issue as an example, Hillary Clinton didn't declare her support for same-sex marriage until 2013, whereas Obama, even while in office, did so in 2012 and hinted support even earlier. Bernie has been there from much before it was convenient to do so, voting against the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) passed by Congress in 1996.

Regarding other stuff, yes, Obama hasn't always hit the highest-height of every mark, but this link from CBS News helps:
