...so many voters on the right aren't embarrassed by such rhetoric. In fact, to hear Nancy Pelosi described as a dingbat doesn't even register as mildly problematic in the minds of people who believe that good Americans should draw sniper targets over the maps of Democratic legislative districts and openly call for armed rebellion in response to Supreme Court decisions with which they disagree.
How did it come to this? Today, I either I read or heard on the news that, except for the mandate, something like 62% or more of Americans, including Republican voters, are in favor of the provisions in the ACA. Are these Republicans shaking their fists in pseudo-outrage while secretly pulling the lever for candidates who will protect the ACA?
At what point do middle class and working poor right wingers start voting in their own best interest and in the best interest of their children? I get it that they've been dumbed down, trained to be afraid of their own shadows, and convinced that anyone whose appearance or beliefs differ from their own is an enemy. But aren't they going broke, too? How are they paying their medical bills, their grocery bills, their mortgages? Who's employing them for more than $8 an hour? Are they getting special breaks on their credit card debt? Are their kids all going to college for free or on scholarships? How long will their diets of Fox news lies sustain them? Are they all infected with terminal ignorance? Their behavior isn't even consistent with the human will to survive.
It's a clusterfuck, to say the least.
