In reply to the discussion: Protester tries to attack Bernie Sanders at Oakland California Rally (5-30-16) [View all]SunSeeker
(58,364 posts)The Secret Service Agents obviously did their job and no one is disputing that. But what I am asking is why accuse these kids of trying to "attack" Sanders and why did Sanders himself accuse them of trying to intimidate him?
Here's a video with better sound at this link: http://heavy.com/news/2016/05/bernie-sanders-attacked-video-oakland-rally-protestors-arrested-animal-rights-activists-youtube/
The protesters were clearly shouting "Animal Liberation Now!" They were not intimidating Sanders.
I get that once they went past where you were supposed to be seated, the Secret Service had to eject them. But this happens all the time at political rallies. Why did Sanders have to accuse them of trying to intimidate him by boasting "we don't get intimidated easily"?
