5. Different things to different people ....

I began playing EverQuest in 2000. I still play today although not as intense as involved as I once was .
The game provided the name, Biden, to my character, long before I was aware of a Joe Biden. I'm proud to still play him.
For me it was an escape when I started. I was going through some personal struggles in my life, and it allowed me to leave the pain and escape into another world where I could concentrate on other more positive events with friends I had made from around the world in real life. After some years I drove across the United States and personally met a lot of those friends in Denver Phoenix Atlanta, Newport News and other cities around the country. All very good people in real life.
Three of my four children still play D&D from time to time and even my grandsons will get together and play with each other occasionally .
Just another bogeyman for the crazies in the institutional religions across the land . They are the real bogeyman, not Dungeons & Dragons .
