2. It's funny but as it was with Bush, it normalizes Trump's bigotry & ineptness.

Bush was the lovable goof for so long despite the fact he was pushing dangerous policies domestically and internationally. Similarly, we're treating Trump as kind of an aloof, unprepared dolt - but boy is he funny! We downplay the extremism and encourage this idea that he's kinda just dumb. But who's the person everyone enjoys in movies and TV shows - the lovable character? The dumb guy. The Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin or Gomer Pyle.

Bush wasn't a bad president because he was dumb. He was a bad president because of his policies and his administration.

Trump's problems aren't that he's too unqualified, which are important, but because he's a bigot and a fascist. Let's not laugh at that.
