16. I have been pointing out the root cause of the majority of our current problems in this

country since I joined DU. That is the ability to legally bribe our politicians. This has been my main issue here and I have sometimes forced this discussion in posts where there was another topic altogether. The reason is that the money in our politics affects almost every issue we have today!

I applaud Keith for this and what he is trying to do now. My only quibble with what he said was that when he said this almost all of our politicians were already bought off. The Citizen United decision just made it harder for a populist movement to gain traction against a bigger tidal wave of money.

I believe that all of the various political groups advocating for things like Climate Change, LGBT rights, women's rights, immigration, Wall Street/economic reform, BLM... join together to focus on this one issue! Each one of the issues I just listed and many, many more will not get satisfactorily addressed until and unless we outlaw campaign contributions! No more revolving door, no more Special Interests/Lobbyists!
