That is false. She did not say that. She said she blamed HERSELF MAINLY for her mistakes, but that it's clear that the October Surprise played a part.
This has nothing to do election strategy. It has to do with misstating what someone said.
Either she said what Axelrod said she said, or she didn't. She did not. That's an objective thing, you know. Axelrod was wrong.
Besides what she said...and no matter what she said, it is well known that October Surprise events are planned by the opposition, and that they DO have an impact on elections. No one needs to tell anyone that an October Surprise had an effect on a Presidential election; it's well known (and common sense) that it does.
