10. Divide and conquer - the Policy of Hate

That's the GOP plan. Pit neighbors against neighbors. Hate blacks? Hate gays? Hate single moms? Hate hispanics? Hate that uppity asian family? Hate those rednecks? Hate the episcopalians? Hate those Mormons? Hate those Catholics? Hate dem Jews? Hate THOSE MUSLIMS!!!???!? Hate those bleepin' Japs? Those gooks? Commies? Socialists? Unmarried couple? Metrosexuals? Hipsters! Glasses wearers!? The poor, the sick, the unfortunate? Those druggies? I bet if I go on, I can find something you hate enough to get you to bite. But you mustn't.

The whole plan of the GOP is to get people to vote for them by appealing to their base instincts of hate. They're sure that if they keep naming some category, it'll be one that you'll hate and since they hate that as well, you need to join the GOP in getting rid of them.

In the big Venn Diagram of the population's demographics, the GOP aims for the differences and extends its hand at you, saying, "Brother, I share your hate. Join me to fight your hate." So they pit neighbors against neighbors. That attitude is so pervasive that you can see it everywhere. People, your friends, your neighbors, your fellow residents of your city, they're quick to pick out the differences and pillory those on the other side of them.

Remember, "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" The citizens of the United States must stand up against the hatred of each other, and by each other I mean our fellow humans ON THIS EARTH, not just in the United States or our state or our city. The citizens of the United States have one main duty: to maintain unity. What can you do to maintain unity? How can you help your fellow man?

The GOP's campaign strategy is to pit neighbors against neighbors. The only alternative right now is the democratic party and the democratic party must stand for maintaining unity at all costs. It should start here on DU and it should blossom out beyond.
