but on the subject of religion, he's spot on. Hitchens was no "neo-con". Now his brother, Peter, fits that description to a tee. Richard Dawkins was a great admirer of Hitchens, and together they railed against the monotheistic concept of 'god', and organized religion of any sort. Hitchens was a lot closer to the left than he was to the right, but he had problems with the left's aversion to conflict. He was always ready for a good dust-up with those on the left and the right, depending on the subject matter. All in all, he was a great intellectual mind, and I sincerely miss that intellect, at a time when intellect is looked upon as something undesirable in this country.
