I don't either, except for the past four years that I have volunteered at our local homeless shelter.
Coffee shops and fast food places are safe spots for homeless people. But, you know something, many of those homeless people are buying something - coffee, a sandwich. Sure, they are then hanging out, making that cup of coffee last longer than others might who have somewhere else to go. How long they stay depends on their reading of the community, the shop, and their behavior. One shop in my town treats every customer, including homeless people, as if their business depends on them. They treat them with respect, offering free coffee as needed, and allowing paying customers to fund the free coffee fund or to give their own free coffees to homeless people. Sure, some people will abuse that situation, but they also know that, even if they are invisible to most of the community, the coffee shop and library people know who's who and what's what, and they - the homeless - will not risk abusing the respect that some shopkeepers give them, whether it's to get out of the rain or snow or cold for a bit or to use the bathroom. Again, I will grant that there are those who will abuse that, even to the extent of taking drugs, but most won't - well, at least in my small town. I guess what I'm getting at is that these so-called hordes of homeless people will reach an equilibrium with coffee shops and diners and libraries and other spots where they can get a break from the relentless boredom and damn near constant movement that they are subjected to.
I know that's a bit of a ramble, but where does Kelly and her ilk expect the homeless to go? Is she going to fund community centers? Is she going to support government funding of such services? No, of course not, even with her 8 figure annual contract. Well, fuck you Megyn Kelly and those like you.
