16. Those running away looked like adults, but were maybe thoughtless "big kids."

No excuse in either case, since in such a situation someone should have been looking out for the younger ones. I would think the normal reaction of any mature person, even if not a parent, would be to immediately "shield" a child. I used to live near a bison preserve ( in the east and comparative to Yellowstone very tiny). I loved seeing them, but always preferred to stay in the car in areas where they were loose. It looked as if the tourists were just there to see the geyser, so is it normal for wildlife to be roaming around?
