In recent years there have been several incidents where a confined, normally wild animal, reacting in a natural manner to an intrusion, has been destroyed simply because a parent/caregiver has been inattentive and ignored warning signs. It's heartbreaking; especially since the child has not usually been as badly harmed as would have happened if the animal had been actually vicious.
