14. How did he become a sociopath?

How is it that I can believe her and appreciate her and her husband's accomplishments, just from this sound bite, and yet her son lacks even a modicum of empathy for those in need. How and when did he become a sociopath? How does one stray so far?

Think about it. Mitch was 15 years old at the time. Old enough to be aware of what was going on around him? How do you lose that foundation?
