4. He was a state representative from Denver

He served in the General Assembly and was Speaker of the House for a few years in the late 2000s.

He's originally from the East, and he went to Ivy League schools for his undergraduate and law degrees, settling in Colorado after that.

He always agreed to speak to classes at both high schools and universities in Colorado. Just a pleasant, progressive Democrat who also can also fight when needed.

As I wrote earlier, if I still live in Colorado (retired after 27 years in public education there), I'd pick him in an instant over Hickenlooper.
