One time, I was in rural Nevada and we drove off the interstate to get gas. Behind us, we heard a loud motor, and I thought there is a car in serious need of muffler replacement. He's loud enough to be a small airplane.

No wonder--it WAS a small airplane. He drove up to a tank, turned off his motor, gassed up, paid, and took off again. I wouldn't want to try that in Rhode Island.
