7. The best Mr. Rogers story I ever heard

Was that he was doing some event for PBS, and they hired a limo to pick him up from his home or hotel or whatever and take him to it, and he insisted on riding in the front seat so he could talk with the driver. When he learned that the driver was going to be outside for two hours, he invited him in as his guest, which flustered the host, and on the way back, the driver mentioned they were close to his neighborhood, and Mr. Rogers asked if he could meet his family so they went to his house where he spent hours talking with them and playing the piano. Like most people he kept in touch with them for the rest of his life.
