He shouldn’t have done this, but the pressure angle from inside the FBI got sent down the memory hole. It speaks to the ongoing corruption that the GOP has groomed in law enforcement. Until and unless law enforcement can confront abuses by their own community they will increasingly be viewed as quasi Gestapo agents.
