Meanwhile, here in northeast Florida, there's a pandemic pandemonium underway, as the local public health department announced availability of vaccines for those age 65+, but seniors have to jump through a really tiny hoop to get the shot:
Shots are by appointment only, and one has to call their phone number to make an appointment. They clearly had not anticipated the demand, as their phone system and/or staff cannot manage the volume of calls today. If you're lucky, you get to the automated attendant, but when you press "1" for the appointment option, you get a busy signal. And, of course, they're closed tomorrow (New Year's Eve) and New Year's Day.
People are driving to the convention center -- the one and only location in massive Duval County -- and those without appointment are turned away by law enforcement.
Crisis? What crisis?
