After watching it, I searched online for a study that was done years ago. I couldn't find it.

My vague memory of it was this...

The experiment involved an actual expert describing his subject of expertise to an audience which knew nothing about it.

There were also very confident-sounding business-types who gave the audience presentations about the subject too, but they BS'd their way through it.

The audiences were later asked who was most credible on the subject, and they overwhelmingly picked the BS'ers who sounded confident... not the actual expert!

That's something that I've noticed with my most gullible sister. She'll forward me something and I'll reply that it's nonsense, or almost certainly nonsense because it would surely get much more attention by mainstream media* otherwise. Then she'll often say, "But that man/woman sounded so confident about it!"

* They would naturally be eager to report such bombshells, if they were true at all.
