That's the joke, anyway - he's emerged from there before and I'm sure this isn't the last time. He must have gotten lonely over 460 days! Actually, he is producer of the show, besides being Colbert's old and dear friend, so I'm sure this isn't his last appearance. But I know what you mean, the Jon Stewart Daily Show was awesome - and historic. I actually had the privilege of being in the studio audience back in 2008 and it was an experience. The studio was smaller and more intimate than it appeared on TV and he was very friendly with the audience, answered questions before the show. A woman sitting near me asked Jon about the notes he uses and he remembered, gave her his notes after the show...
