The absolute, most important thing to remember about a coup is you damn sure better pull it off or you're fucked. Cross that Rubicon and there's no going back. No matter what you say or how hard you try, you can never undo it. Fail and at best you'll eventually end up in jail. Worst case, your head ends up on a spike. If I were them, I'd be scared too.
