I was once on kitchen duty at the homeless shelter where I worked one night, when a guest volunteer (we called our clients "guests"
came up to me really, really upset. Apparently he overheard some of these "good people" making insulting remarks about those they were serving and a lot of these comments were heard by a lot of people.
I went straight to the volunteer coordinator of the shelter and told her point-blank that I did not want these people back. I had no time for their bullshit. They lost their weekly volunteering spot.
It didn't happen often, thank God. But when it did, I was sure to be quick to shut it down.
