4. A full year to clarify what happened on the day?

Vision and events on the day make it quite clear that:

TFG stirred up the crowd and told them what to do.

TFG sat back and watched, hoping that it would succeed and he would be reinstated.

Others ran around and pleaded with him to stop the violence he had started, but he ignored them.

When it became clear the insurrection was failing, he made a token effort to disconnect.

I can't get past the idea that the POTUS of the day ignored
his obligations to protect the USA and it's citizens from harm.

Was it just 'rowdy tourists' on the day, an insurrection to try to overthrow the Government, or an attempted pogrom?

POGROM:
"A pogrom is a violent riot incited with the aim of massacring or expelling an ethnic or religious group, particularly Jews. The Slavic term originally entered the English language as a descriptive term for 19th- and 20th-century attacks on Jews"

In this case, it was an attempted pogrom against Democrats (Pelosi and others) and anyone else who didn't do what TFG wanted done (Pence for instance).
