There is no debating people like this. They will employ every escape hatch, every fallacy, every bad faith argument, every way to compartmentalize their thinking and how they think things should be.

You can easily expect a more reasonable discussion with a child.

No, there has to be a point where we say “if you are not going to even attempt to argue, debate, or discuss in good faith, then get away from the table”
