My daughter, away at college, just got over the flu. She went to urgent care and had to practically beg the doctor to give her a flu test. The doctor only wanted to do a COVID test. My daughter, vaxxed and boosted, had gotten over COVID a month earlier and was pretty sure it wasn't COVID. My daughter really had to push hard to get a flu test. Test for COVID negative, test for flu (Type A) positive. Then my daughter had to beg for Tamiflu. Starting feeling a lot better around day 3.

Conversely, a couple of days later a friend of mine texted me her son (also a college student) was really sick. Had been dealing with a fever for over 5 days along with just feeling HORRIBLE. COVID test negative. I asked if he'd gotten a flu test and she said no, the doctor didn't even mention it. He went back to get the flu test and it was positive. Too late for Tamiflu. Her son is on the college baseball team and the whole team got very sick. Not one player tested for flu, only COVID.

I don't understand why so many doctors aren't testing for flu? Flu is still here, it's not just COVID.
