5. This happened to now-Senator Gary Peters and his wife in the '80s

Sep 2022

They were expecting a much wanted child when something went wrong and the fetus was no longer viable. As it deteriorated, his wife got sicker and sicker, but no doctor or hospital would do the necessary procedure since it was considered an abortion. At the last minute, someone they knew contacted someone they knew and the procedure was performed, saving her life, but it was close. The senator finally spoke out about this painful episode explaining why he is pro choice. How many more women have found themselves in this deadly position now that we have gone back in time???
