3. I honestly do not see how DeSantis makes it to the top of the ticket 2 years from now.

He exists because of the desire for having Trumpism without Trump in charge of it. I suspect that may well be a moot point by the primary season. There are others who are smarter and with less baggage than Ron.

Without question his candidacy rests on whether the Money wants him or not. That is what runs the GOP at present. While it is true the press seems to believe he's got what it takes, at least for this week, the next disaster to hit Florida could well topple him. A new wave of COVID, or a few more hurricanes, or a serious scandal exposing him or his administration would do it. There are already federal questions being raised about how he spent the COVID funds and the hurricane money.
