1. I do really like that show, but the perfunctory nod to mental health

in what is for the most part a comedy (albeit a thoughtful one in many ways) feels kinda 'tacked on' to me. In the 3rd season premier (which we watched earlier tonight), Ted makes jokes about his condition in front of a presser ... I mean, it was a serious groaner.

I dunno that plot line just kinda rubs me the wrong way in that particular show, not that it's not a very important subject, but just kinda feels ... too weighty for the surrounding context ... feels like it just came outta nowhere once the show got popular and the showrunners decided it needed to be more 'serious' in response, trying to grab some more awards type of thing
