8. And one more thing - Dems won seats in the house. The GOP LOST seats.

Nov 2012

Just because our side didn't win back a full-on majority, outright, doesn't mean there wasn't still a NET GAIN.

They... what? Let me hear it, now - LOST. They LOST. Repeat after me. What'd they do? They LOST. Gimme an "L." Gimme an "O." Gimme an "S." Gimme a "T" - the sweetest, too, because since 2010 "T" stood for teabaggers. Now it's OURS. They LOST.

They lost in all three Washington realms:
The White House
The Senate - we EXTENDED our lead there - UNLIKE what they did in the House
AND the House of Representatives.

They may have kept the House, BUT - our final score is TWO keeps and ONE net gain. Whereas their final score is only ONE keep and TWO net losses. People need to be reminded of that. Let's show the republi-CONS who's boss here, and put them in their place - where they belong. In the LOSERS column.

It's all in the framing.

A highly annoying majority, even on our side, is forgetting or otherwise neglecting to point the last third of that three-way win. Not enough on our side are steadily and repeatedly reminding everyone from the chattering class outward, AND republi-CONS they know and know of, that the GOP LOST seats in the House. Let's all remember that. They did not gain a single one. Their majority was not enlarged and reaffirmed. On the contrary! It was decreased and weakened, PARTICULARLY considering the loss of two of their biggest marquee-name, camera-hogging teabagger freshmen, two of their best and noisiest point-men, the two biggest and most extreme and offensive and in-yer-face loudmouths they had on the team: joe walsh and allen west. Yep, those two were both so fabulous and acquitted themselves so damn well that they got their asses shown the door after only ONE term. EPIC FAIL! PLUS another couple of wannabe loudmouths they were hoping to add in the Senate, richard mourdock and todd akin, whose loud mouths turned out to render them both nonstarters who couldn't even get in the front door. Yet another very high-profile FAIL.

This was NOT any reassertion or underscoring of their majority. That majority today is not nearly as robust as it was two years ago, and is now more anemic with both of its two front fangs removed. Yes, technically, the GOP still does have what's left of one, and we oughta add "just barely!" whenever it comes up for discussion. They may still be ahead there, but we're gaining on them. Their lead is much less. The momentum is OURS. And we need to be gutsy and build on it and reconfirm in voters' minds that they're getting their money's worth as far as strong and respectable representation. That needs to be said, read, and spread!

That message needs to be out there, and rather vigorously! And on repeat - because it's necessary.
