I was living in Denver which was undergoing a huge construction boom. Every Christmas the builders would decorate the high rise cranes in Christmas lights and I remember counting at least 17 of them in Denver Tech Center.

My friend from work and I would drive from our office to get lunch and drive by a new corner strip mall that seemed to sprout from nowhere. We would joke about the helicopters flying in every night a big vat of "universal manufacturing paste" slung under the copter, find a empty corner lot and "splat" there would be a new strip mall with a couple of fast food places, a dentist, a nail salon, a 7-11 type place, and a few "odds and ends" stores.

Now I get to see it happen for real... only a new school. Same universal manufacturing paste. minus the helicopter.
