2. Education and fundamentalist Christianity

Or I should say poor education. From the time they were toddlers, their fundamentalist evangelical Christian church taught them to believe in the inerrant word of god in the Bible. Always to have faith in what the Bible said and never to use reason against the Bible and ask questions like: If Jesus was born of virgin birth, where did he get his male chromazomes? Or how did Jesus escape earth's gravity to ascend to heaven without a rocket or oxygen supply? Or better yet, how how does a 3-day old corpse get up and start walking around?

My point is that from early childhood, they were taught to believe what authority figures told them. Is it any wonder that they believe completely what the authority figures on Fox News tells them?

The Age of Enlightenment has never touched them. They probably don't even know when or what it was.
