E.g., the banks have committed documented crime after crime, or had the laws re-written so as to prevent their implication/culpability.

Bush lied to get into Iraq. Torture. Foreign tribunalS have found him guilty. My argument here is that even when we know things with certainty, we do nothing about it. Good old Obama: "I want us to look forward, not back."

No Mr President, I WANT us to be a nation that respects the rule of law, so that this stuff is deeply discouraged from happening again.

Reading between the lines, the Obama admin intends to carry forward the same types of illegal and mischievous tactics, to protect the same interests as the admins that came before. And after Obama, the next president, whoever she/he is, will most likely carry forward the same things.

There is currently no of, by, or for the people...unless we are talking about that rare few.
