Thus a different species, though both belong to the mollusk family. (Forgive me if I am being pedantic; I am a frustrated reference librarian at heart.)

I am in total agreement with you on discluding both species from the "food" category.

I ate octopus once, and it was okay. Then, I saw a PBS program about their remarkable capabilities. After that, I decided that I couldn't eat them. The same choice extended to squid and cuttlefish. They are just too clever and good at problem solving.

Frankly, I've dealt with many people who weren't that proactive in meeting the challenges of their environments.

BTW, my username has a round about connection to squid. I won't bother explaining, but I have several shopping bags with squid designs on them because of my affinity to the species.
